16. September 2011 — I texted my brother from Cape Town to tell him that I’d fallen in love with a house. A house that stole my heart and has been at the centre of my life ever since. Tucked away in Tamboerskloof, a short stroll from the city’s coveted bars, restaurants, and Cape Town culture, stands The Trevoyan, a proud Victorian residence dating back to 1896. My partner, Charles, and I have worked hard to transform this special place into a charming guest house, whose doors are always open to those seeking a homely and serene place to stay.
Come and visit, and you might fall in love, too.

4.27pm Wednesday —
You’ve check-in. Flopped on the bed.
Now it’s time to cool off in the pool.

10.45 Tuesday — Breakfast. That delicious aroma is our homemade granola on baking day. It’s made to order as part of our fresh buffet, where you’ll also find a selection of breads, jams, marmalade and local cheeses. Popular with many guests is our summer bowl of organic tomatoes with olive oil, feta and capers, or toasted rye with sliced avocado, cranberries, walnuts, feta and a drizzle of lime – add a poached egg and make it your own. A cooked breakfast (and vegetarian option) is also available.

Breakfast by the pool
8.25pm Thursday — A botanical G&T on the terrace? Or a glass of one of our favourite wines. Let us know if you’d like another.
2.16 pm Monday — Chapman’s Peak via our Fiat 500. That scent you can smell is sea-mist, seaweed and sun-warmed sand. Breathe in. Breathe out. Repeat.
9.26 am Saturday — Charles, the man who knows the best bars, restaurants, and stunning beaches, can help you organise cycle and hiking trips and visits to wineries. Ask him about a local guide who will take you to the top of Table Mountain to watch the sunrise.
