5.54 pm Sunday — You’re sitting on our sofa by the pool, looking up at Table Mountain bathed in golden light. Our mountain is one of those places that feels indescribably special, and can affect your mood long after you’ve left. Our returning guests say they have the same feeling about the Trevoyan and when the sun sets fire to the sky at dusk, our rooftop terrace is the perfect place to feel the heartbeat of the city.
2.10pm. — En route to the Trevoyan Guest House. If you‘ve spotted the slopes of Table Mountain and Lion’s Head, then you’ve arrived in the tranquil neighbourhood of Tamboerskloof. After you’ve checked in, you’ll see our old oak tree, which has been shading the house for well over 100 years.

11.34 am Tuesday — Still not ready for the day? No problem, Enellie will pop back later to make up your room. Like a family, our staff is a close-knit bunch. They put their heart and passion into making your stay just the way you like it. That’s Ayanda, Enellie, Jeffrey, Johannes and Phumza.
11.46 am Friday —The dog hiding here on the lounge sofa is Professor Peanut. He’ll make room if you scratch his tummy.
7.37pm Friday — You’re ambling up the road to the The Blue Cafe, a local cafe and deli that’s been trading since 1904. Known locally as “The Blue”, you’ll find it an engaging part of neighbourhood life, serving fresh produce grown by residents of Tamboerskloof. Go for the local Cape Malay classic and South Africa’s national dish, “Bobotie”. Best of all you’re unlikely to find it in the guidebooks!
